SUMMARY:HPC Education and Training: An Australian Perspective
DESCRIPTION:Workshop\nEducation, Scientific Computing, Training, Workshop
Reg Pass, Scalable and Sustainable Approaches for HPC Training and Educati
on\n\nHPC Education and Training: An Australian Perspective\n\nNunez, Cyto
wski\n\nThe Pawsey Supercomputing Centre has been running a variety of edu
cation, training and outreach activities addressed to all Australian resea
rchers for a number of years. Based on experience and user feedback we hav
e developed a mix of on-site and on-line training, roadshows, user forums
and hackathon-type events. We have also developed an open repository of ma
terials covering different aspects of HPC systems usage, parallel programm
ing techniques as well as cloud and data resources usage. In this talk we
will share our experience in using different learning methods and tools to
address specific educational and training purposes. The overall goal will
be to emphasise that there is no universal learning solution, instead var
ious solutions and platforms need to be carefully selected for different g
 roups of interest.
