SUMMARY:CiSE-ProS - Using Virtual Reality to Enforce Principles of Physica
 l Cybersecurity
DESCRIPTION:Workshop\nEducation, Scientific Computing, Training, Workshop
Reg Pass, Emerging Tools enabling HPC Training and Education\n\nCiSE-ProS
 - Using Virtual Reality to Enforce Principles of Physical Cybersecurity\n\
nSeo, Bruner, Payne, Gober, McMullen...\n\nThe Cyberinfrastructure Securit
y Education for Professionals and Students (CiSE-ProS) virtual reality env
ironment is an exploratory project that uses evidence-generating approache
s to evaluate the impact of learning environments produced by augmented re
ality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies for teaching cybersecurit
y concepts. The program is steeped in well-reviewed pedagogy; the refineme
nt of the educational methods based on constant assessment is a critical f
actor that has contributed to its success. In its current implementation,
the program supports undergraduate student education. The overarching goal
is to develop the CiSE-ProS VR program for implementation at institutions
with low cyberinfrastructure (CI) adoption to where students may not have
access to a physical data center to learn about the physical aspects of c
 ybersecurity.
