SUMMARY:HPC-as-a-Service for Life Sciences
DESCRIPTION:Poster\nTech Program Reg Pass, Exhibits Reg Pass\n\nHPC-as-a-S
ervice for Life Sciences\n\nSvaton, Martinovic, Jeliazkova, Chupakhin, Tom
ancak...\n\nHPC-as-a-Service is a well-known term in the area of high perf
ormance computing. It enables users to access an HPC infrastructure withou
t a need to buy and manage their own infrastructure. Through this service,
academia and industry can take advantage of the technology without an upf
ront investment in the hardware. This approach further lowers the entry ba
rrier for users who are interested in utilizing massive parallel computers
but often do not have the necessary level of expertise in the area of par
allel computing. To provide this simple and intuitive access to the superc
omputing infrastructure, an in-house application framework called HEAppE h
as been developed. HEAppE's universally designed software architecture ena
bles unified access to different HPC systems through a simple object-orien
ted API. Thus providing HPC capabilities to the users but without the nece
ssity to manage the running jobs from the command-line interface of the HP
C scheduler directly on the cluster.
