Biography
Xipeng Shen is a Professor in Computer Science at North Carolina State University in USA. He received the Early Career Research Award from the US Department of Energy in 2011, and CAREER Award from US NSF in 2010. His primary research work lies in the field of programming systems and high performance computing, featuring an emphasis on inter-disciplinary problems and approaches with a recent focus on high performance machine learning and high-level program optimizations. Prior to joining NC State in 2014 as a Chancellor's Faculty Excellence Program cluster hire in Data-Driven Science, Shen was the Adina Allen Term Distinguished Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at The College of William and Mary. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Rochester in 2006.
