Travis Johnston
Biography
Travis Johnston is a Research Scientist for AI in High Performance Computing at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He holds degrees (BS and PhD) in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (undergraduate) and the University of South Carolina (graduate). Before joining ORNL as a postdoctoral researcher in 2016, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Global Computing Laboratory at the University of Delaware. His research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning and high performance computing with applications to areas of national interest including fundamental science, energy, health, and national security.
